My Portable Job Idea
PortableJobs.Biz is an idea I had while on a boat ride from Tacloban City to Cebu on September 11, 2001.
I was playing cards with a bunch of friends and we were on our way to a Wall Climbing competition. I can still remember the sights, sounds and scents on the ship as I looked at the faces of each people in the group.
We were happy. And we were getting paid to have fun.
Back then I was working as a Disc Jock for a local Radio station and as a crew for a video store. These were odd jobs that helped me pay for some things as I was going through college.
The money was OK but what really made me happy was playing in a band. And we weren't earning that much. Heck we would've done it for free if we wanted.
And blogging. I was a really prolific blogger. Writing an equivalent of a small book everyday. And I didn't even get paid for it. Well up until I discovered Google Adsense. Still, I would've done it even without the money. It just made me happy to be able to write anytime I wanted and wherever a great idea struck me. All I needed was a pen and paper or a voice recorder to flesh out my ideas.
I realized that the only way to really be happy is to be in a working environment that didn't require you to be confined within the 4 walls of an office or sitting behind a desk.
I wanted a job that helped me fully utilize my skills. I wanted a job that still allows freedom. A job I could carry around with me. A Portable Job.
And that's how PortableJobs.Biz came about.
A portable job is any type of work you can carry around with you. You can be a carpenter, a skilled worker, a virtual assistant, a blogger, a manager, a blogger, an artist. Whatever it is, as long as you can work wherever you want, that's a portable job!
Today, I am happy with the things I do outside the confines of an office and earning enough to keep me going.
There are many places to get a portable job if you only find the courage and will to go and get it.
Do you have a portable job?
